A five-day capacity-building program focusing on university management was successfully inaugurated at the Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU) Bahawalpur. The initiative, conducted under the National Outreach Program in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education, aims to enhance leadership and management skills among university administrators.
The opening ceremony featured Prof Dr Shazia Anjum, Vice-Chancellor of GSCWU, as the Chief Guest. In her keynote address, Dr Anjum highlighted the critical role of leadership in navigating the evolving higher education landscape. She urged participants to embrace modern management practices and innovative solutions to address the challenges faced by academic institutions.
Prof Dr Muhammad Sadiq Hashmi, Dean of the Faculty of Education and training coordinator for the program, welcomed attendees and outlined the initiative’s objectives. He emphasized that the training would provide participants with strategic insights into effective university management, fostering a culture of excellence in higher education.
The program commenced with an engaging session by Dr Abid Hussain Shehzad, a prominent expert from the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB). His lecture on “Leadership and Management in Higher Education” underscored the importance of strong leadership in achieving academic and institutional growth.
Over the next five days, participants will explore various aspects of university management, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and enhancing academic performance. The initiative seeks to empower faculty and administrative staff with the tools and knowledge necessary to drive their institutions toward success in an increasingly competitive academic environment.
