GSCWU Organizes Seminar to Mark Palestine Solidarity Day

In line with the nationwide observance of Palestine Solidarity Day, the Rahmat-ul-lil-Alameen Peace Club, under the Directorate of Student Affairs at Government Sadiq College Women University (GSCWU) Bahawalpur, hosted a seminar to express solidarity with Palestinian Muslims. The event was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shazia Anjum and featured prominent scholars and a vibrant participation of students and faculty.

The seminar highlighted the enduring significance of the Palestinian cause in both Islamic and global contexts. Professor Dr Zia-ur-Rehman, Chairman of the Department of Quranic Studies at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), delivered a compelling lecture on the historical and religious dimensions of Palestine. Meanwhile, Ms Fariha Khalid, Principal of the House of Wisdom, Rahim Yar Khan, provided a global perspective on the issue, underscoring the political and humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shazia Anjum, addressing the audience as the chief guest, emphasized the need for unity within the Muslim Ummah. “Outsiders have always sought to divide us, but as a united Ummah, we must take collective steps regarding the Palestine issue,” she stated. She encouraged students to prioritize their academic endeavors, highlighting the importance of intellectual efforts in overcoming challenges faced by the Muslim world.

The seminar was skillfully moderated by Dr Saadia Noreen, a Lecturer in the Department of Islamic Studies. Faculty members, including Dr Fatima Mazhar, Director of Students Affairs, joined a large number of students in demonstrating their commitment to the Palestinian cause.

This event reflected the spirit of solidarity observed nationwide, reinforcing the role of educational institutions in raising awareness and fostering dialogue on critical global issues.
