HEC advisory for Pakistani students in Chinese universities

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) issued an advisory for Pakistani students enrolled in Chinese Higher Education Institutions and advised students to continue to attend online classes.

As per the HEC, the second wave of COVID-19 and further mutation of virus has increased the spread of epidemic during the last two months of winter and hence, the immigration policies for international students to China have not been determined yet.

The apex body to deal with higher education matters in Pakistan said, “Since the students are already enrolled in Chinese universities and taking online classes, they are advised to continue to attend online classes of their respective programs and keep in close contact with their respective Chinese institutions.”

HEC further said the Central Government of China in Beijing will make proper arrangements depending upon the actual evaluation of the pandemic situation for the return of Pakistani students to respective Chinese institutions.

“Notice of any updated study Visa policy will be notified as and when received from Chinese side. This Advisory is notified on behalf of Chinese Embassy, Islamabad,” the HEC advisory read as posted on its official Twitter handle.
