HEC Chairman Meets Turkish Counterpart

Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, met with the President of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye (YOK), Prof Dr Erol Özvar, to discuss strengthening academic ties between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides explored opportunities for collaboration in various academic and research domains. Discussions focused on developing academic and research exchange programs, leadership development initiatives, and community-centered projects aimed at fostering sustainable growth in educational institutions.

A key outcome of the discussions was the agreement to establish a roadmap for enhanced collaboration between HEC Pakistan and Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education. This roadmap includes promoting partnerships among top-ranked universities of both nations, facilitating faculty and student mobility, and forming a consortium of universities to strengthen academic and research ties. Additionally, both sides emphasized the need for a structured framework for joint research programs, particularly on emerging issues relevant to Pakistan and Türkiye.

The meeting signifies a step forward in bolstering bilateral educational cooperation, reinforcing the commitment of both countries to advancing higher education through knowledge-sharing and collaborative research efforts.
