The Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad witnessed the commencement of a two-day National Convention titled “Youth – Pivot of National Integration,” organized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.
The primary objective of this grand assembly of university students is to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the nation’s youth and promote a sense of national integration and inter-provincial harmony.
Mr. Sadiq Sanjrani, the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, graced the opening ceremony as the chief guest. Notable attendees included Mr. Madad Ali Sindhi, Minister of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT), Senator Behramand Tangi, Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Executive Director HEC Dr. Zia Ul-Qayyum, vice-chancellors, faculty members, and a multitude of students from across the country.
During his address to the students, Mr. Sanjrani underscored the importance of forging national unity, maintaining an optimistic approach, and committing to propel the country forward despite challenges. He acknowledged Pakistan’s abundance of natural resources and stressed the responsibility of the nation, especially the youth, in preserving and utilizing these resources. Additionally, he emphasized the crucial role of teachers in shaping the future of the nation.
Encouraging students to value their educational opportunities and actively pursue knowledge, Mr. Sanjrani expressed his belief that an educated and empowered youth holds the key to overcoming challenges and steering the country towards a brighter future. He called for inclusivity and collaboration, emphasizing that national unity is indispensable in addressing the multifaceted challenges confronting the nation.
In his welcome remarks, Chairman HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed outlined the National Convention’s objective—to ensure that the youth of Pakistan harness their potential for the country’s progress. He stressed the need to provide equal opportunities for youth, urging everyone to set aside personal gains, interests, and differences for the collective well-being of the motherland.
The event featured young high achievers from various fields sharing their inspiring stories to motivate the attending youth. Individuals such as Dr. Hafiz Waleed Ali, Ms. Sibel Afzal Satt, Mr. Ali Gohar, Ms. Maria Shamoon, Mr. Umer Adil, Sumaiya Bibi, Amtul Rehman, Manisha Ali, and Maliha Ali presented their inspirational journeys, demonstrating resilience and professional excellence to serve as examples and role models for others.
Ms. Sibel Afzal Satt, a fighter pilot in the Pakistan Airforce, shared her dream of becoming a part of the Airforce and the profound responsibilities that come with her prestigious role. She expressed a deep commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s sovereignty and contributing to the nation’s defense and security.
Similarly, other high achievers shared the challenges they faced before achieving success in their respective fields, aiming to inspire and motivate the attending students.
