HEC Propel Online Education with Workshops at NUST

In a significant stride towards enhancing online education in Pakistan, the Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA), in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), hosted two training workshops at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad. The sessions aimed to advance online education readiness and foster internationalization within the sector.

The workshops featured prominent experts, including Dr Deborah Keyek-Franssen, Dr Chanté Wilson, and Dr Abaidullah Anwar, who led presentations and interactive sessions. Participants delved into discussions on a comprehensive playbook for online education, a readiness index, and actionable next steps for improving the sector’s performance.

“These sessions are a critical step towards building a more robust and globally competitive online education system in Pakistan,” said one of the trainers during the event. Attendees included educators, administrators, and policymakers, all focused on creating sustainable strategies for the future of online learning.

As a gesture of appreciation, Advisor HEC Mr Awais Ahmed presented souvenirs to the distinguished trainers. The initiative reflects a growing commitment to strengthening higher education through innovation and collaboration, underscoring the importance of preparedness in the evolving landscape of digital learning.
