IBA and HEC Launch I-INCUBATE

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), has officially launched “I-INCUBATE,” an ambitious 13-month incubation program designed to nurture startup innovation. The launch event, hosted at Aman Tower on IBA’s City Campus, marked a pivotal moment for the institution’s efforts to bolster the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Organized by the IBA Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (IBA-CED), I-INCUBATE promises a comprehensive range of resources and support for budding entrepreneurs. The program, supported by HEC funding, will provide structured training, mentoring, co-working spaces, networking opportunities, and accountability mechanisms aimed at fostering the growth and sustainability of student-led startups.

Dr. Lalarukh Ejaz, Director of IBA-CED, kicked off the event with a welcome address, followed by an overview of the program by Ms. Kanza Sohail, Lead of the Incubation Program. Attendees were introduced to the startups selected to participate in I-INCUBATE, which include students from a diverse set of universities: IBA Karachi, University of Karachi, DHA Suffa University, Denning Law School, NED University, Jinnah University for Women, FAST-NUCES Karachi, and Iqra University.

The participating startups span various industries, including Edtech, Marketplace, Online Earning, Lifestyle, Tourism, Agritech, Electric Bikes, Legal, Engineering, Circular Economy, Energy, Pharmacy, Fintech, Healthtech, B2B Commerce, and Employability. The initiative is designed not only to boost the viability of these ventures but also to generate significant societal impacts, such as job creation, income generation, and economic growth.

The event concluded with a networking hi-tea, allowing HEC representatives, IBA leadership, and industry leaders to connect and explore potential collaborations. With the I-INCUBATE program, IBA Karachi reaffirms its commitment to empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and contributing to Pakistan’s growing startup ecosystem.
