IBA and PAA Partner to Launch Aviation Diploma

In a landmark move to advance aviation education in Pakistan, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, through its Center for Executive Education (IBA-CEE), has joined hands with the Pakistan Airports Authority’s (PAA) Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) to launch a Diploma Program in Aviation Leadership and Management. This collaboration was formalized at an MoU signing ceremony held at PAA Headquarters.

The agreement was signed by Dr S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, and AVM Zeeshan Saeed, Director General of PAA. The initiative aims to equip professionals with the skills and expertise necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving aviation sector in Pakistan.

Engr Sumair Saeed, Director of CATI, welcomed attendees and highlighted the significance of this partnership in fostering leadership and professional growth in the aviation industry. He extended his gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making this initiative a reality.

Dr Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Dean of the School of Business Studies (IBA-SBS), and Mr Kamran Bilgrami, Director of IBA-CEE, underscored the increasing demand for skilled leadership and strategic management in the aviation sector. They emphasized that this diploma program will bridge the skill gap and prepare professionals for the challenges and opportunities in the industry.

Beyond the diploma program, this partnership is set to introduce various capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s aviation industry. By fostering leadership excellence, offering specialized training, and providing industry-driven learning solutions, IBA and CATI are committed to enhancing operational capabilities within the sector.
