The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi celebrated a historic milestone as 1,353 graduates were conferred degrees during its Convocation for the Class of 2024. The grand ceremony took place at the institute’s Main Campus and was attended by distinguished guests, faculty, and families of the graduates.

This year’s convocation marked the largest graduating class in IBA’s history, a testament to the institution’s continued growth and commitment to academic excellence.
The Chief Guest, Sindh Chief Minister and Patron IBA, Syed Murad Ali Shah, lauded the institute for its legacy of leadership and impact over nearly seven decades. “This convocation holds special significance as IBA prepares to celebrate its 70th anniversary next year,” he said, emphasizing the contributions of the institute’s world-class faculty, 67% of whom hold PhDs from leading global institutions.
Dr S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, congratulated the graduates, commending their dedication and perseverance. “Today is particularly special as we celebrate the largest graduating class in IBA’s history,” he remarked. He highlighted the anticipation surrounding the institute’s upcoming 70th anniversary, calling it a testament to IBA’s legacy of excellence and transformation.
The Guest of Honor, Ms Sultana Siddiqui, President of Hum Network and Founder of Moomal Productions, praised the graduates for their achievements and urged them to dream big while upholding integrity and honesty. “True success goes beyond personal achievements,” she said, recognizing IBA’s role in shaping leaders who contribute to society.
The event celebrated academic and extracurricular excellence, with top performers receiving medals, shields, and merit certificates. Among the highlights was the presentation of the Excellence in Sports award to rowing champion Syeda Manahil Hussain from the Class of 2024.
As IBA Karachi sets its sights on its 70th anniversary celebrations next year, the Convocation 2024 stood as a powerful reminder of the institute’s enduring impact on education, leadership, and societal transformation.
