The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi, in collaboration with IBA-ORIC and the IBA Leadership Club, hosted the launch ceremony of the Women Leadership Forum (WLF) at its City Campus. The event gathered participants from diverse industries, including NGOs, banking, finance, health, and academia, signaling a powerful step toward advancing women’s leadership in Pakistan.

Dr S Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA Karachi, extended a warm welcome to the attendees, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to fostering gender-inclusive leadership.
The event was graced by Ms Sultana Siddiqui, President of Hum Network, as a Special Guest. Ms Shazia Marri, Member of the National Assembly, also conveyed her support through a recorded video message, reinforcing the significance of collective efforts toward female empowerment.
Engaging panel discussions on “The Need for Women Leadership Advocacy” and “Women Leadership: The Way Forward” were the highlights of the event. Experts from academia, entertainment, and the banking and financial sectors shared insights on overcoming barriers to female leadership and discussed strategies to foster inclusive leadership practices.
The Women Leadership Forum aims to provide a platform for women to share experiences, seek mentorship, and network with like-minded allies. A key theme throughout the event was the importance of collaboration between men and women in achieving gender equity, with speakers also highlighting the critical role family support plays in enabling women to reach their potential.
The event concluded with Dr Abdullah Sheikh, Dean of IBA-SBS, delivering the vote of thanks, followed by a Networking Tea session, which provided attendees an opportunity to connect and explore potential partnerships.
The launch of the WLF marks an important milestone for IBA Karachi in its mission to cultivate a culture of leadership and empowerment for women across all sectors.
