Sukkur IBA University (SIU) here on Saturday held a condolence reference for its slain Assistant Professor Late Dr Muhammad Ajmal Sawand, who was brutally murdered this week at Kandhkot.

The participants paid tribute to the deceased Assistant Professor Dr Muhammad Ajmal Sawand and said the vacuum created by his death could not be filled. The Vice Chancellor, faculty and students demanded expeditious justice for Dr Sawand who was murdered in his car at Kandhkot this week.

Addressing the reference, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh said all faculty members of Sukkur IBA University were deeply shocked and grieved by the brutal murder, and would pursue this case at all the relevant forums of justice. “We are in contact with the police and bereaved family, and sincerely hope that the culprits would be arrested soon,” he added.

Vice Chancellor further said that he had found Dr Muhammad Ajmal Sawand a thorough gentleman who dedicatedly served Sukkur IBA University for more than eight years. I thank all the individuals and organizations who stand with us on this difficult times, Professor Shaikh Added.

Participants also condoles the death of Mr Irfan Lateef Memon, who died this week due to a fatal disease in Malaysia, where he was doing his PhD. Faculty and officers paid tribute and said demises of Dr Sawand and Mr Irfan Latif were a big loss for the university.
