IBCC & AKUEB Equip Punjab Boards with 21st-Century Skills

The Inter Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC), in collaboration with Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKUEB), has successfully concluded a three-day capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing assessment methodologies for Punjab Examination Boards. Held at MAO College Lahore and hosted by BISE Lahore, the workshop gathered subject specialists from nine examination boards across Punjab to develop expertise in modern assessment techniques and digital integration.

The initiative was designed to equip examination officials with advanced methodologies to enhance transparency, efficiency, and fairness in student assessments. Experts from AKU-EB conducted sessions focusing on modern assessment techniques, digital integration in examination systems, and data-driven evaluation strategies.

The workshop brought together key representatives from BISE Lahore, BISE Rawalpindi, BISE Gujranwala, BISE Faisalabad, BISE Multan, BISE Sargodha, BISE Bahawalpur, BISE DG Khan, and BISE Sahiwal. Subject specialists in English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, along with IT specialists and examination wing focal persons, participated in the training sessions.

Dr Ghulam Ali Mallah, Executive Director IBCC, served as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony, where he emphasized the importance of continuous professional development in modernizing Pakistan’s examination system. He also expressed gratitude to PBCC and BISE Lahore for their support in organizing the workshop and acknowledged the Punjab Boards’ crucial role in shaping Pakistan’s academic future.

Prof. Zahid Mian, Controller Lahore Board, and Mr Ali Raza, Chairman Punjab Chamber of Education, attended as Guests of Honour. Ms Sadia Naz, Deputy Director IBCC, served as the Focal Person, ensuring the seamless execution of training sessions.

This workshop is part of a nationwide effort by IBCC and AKU-EB to introduce advanced assessment methodologies across Pakistan. Similar training sessions have already been conducted in Karachi for Sindh Boards and Peshawar for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Boards, reflecting a commitment to aligning the country’s examination systems with global educational standards.

IBCC remains dedicated to transforming assessment practices and will continue collaborating with key stakeholders to establish a more robust and technology-driven examination system in Pakistan.
