ICAP Chartered Accountant Women Committee (CAWC) organized Women’s Day Celebrations 2022

The CA Women Committee of ICAP celebrated CA Women’s Day 2022 at ICAP Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad and virtually through Zoom, following this year’s International Women’s Day theme; ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’ #BreakTheBias.

The event was commenced by Ms. Moneeza Butt followed by addresses of Ms. Khursheed Kotwal, Council Member / Member CA Women Committee, Ms. Hina Usmani, Council Member & Chairperson CA Women Committee; Mr. Saifullah, Vice President ICAP and Mr. Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, President ICAP.

Chief guest, Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis British Deputy High Commissioner Karachi shed light on ‘Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow’.

Guest of Honor, Ms. Sadia Khan Commissioner SECP briefed the audience on ‘Importance of gender diversity at the workplace and various initiatives taken by SECP’.

Panel discussion was held, on “Recognizing the contribution of gender diversity and inclusiveness.  Strategy for advancing Environmental, Social and Governance diversity in Pakistan” with dignitaries from the industry including Mr. Amir Paracha, Chairman & CEO Unilever Pakistan; Ms. Nishwa Qureshi, Head of Talent Nestle Pakistan; Dr. Farah Essa Zaidi, Owner Essa Laboratory; Ms. Narmeen Khan, Managing Director Mondelez International – Malaysia and Singapore and Ms. Ayesha Arif Bawanay PWC New York, USA and moderated by Ms. Ammara S. Gondal, Member & Secretary NRC & Member CA Women Committee.

Keynote Speaker, Ms. Sultana Siddiqui, Hum TV Director, Producer and Businessperson enlighten the audience on ‘Gender equality at the center of solutions – how is media playing its role in making this awareness’.

CA Women Committee also acknowledged all the ladies who have worked on the CA Women’s projects & done a wonderful job. CA Women Achievement Awards was announced, where, Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Ms. Lilly Dossabhoy and Ms. Saira Nasir; CA Woman of the Year Award to Dr. Huma Sodher and Aspiring student of the Year Award to Ms. Khizra Manzoor. Four women members achieved the benchmark of completing 25 years of association as member with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. The awards were also given to longest serving female employees in their respective locations.

Mr. Husnain R. Badami in his closing remarks appreciated the speakers and the efforts put forth by the CA Women Committee for organizing a wonderful event. The event was followed by dinner at each location.
