Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba (IJT) Pakistan has organized a conference to pay tribute to Islamic scholar Syed Abul A’La Maududi at Aiwan e Iqbal, Lahore.
The conference was attended by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan leader Liaqat Baloch, IJT Nazim Shakeel Ahmed, Turkish Islamic Movement Ambassador Mustafa Özgul and Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan) leader Dr Azzam Tamimi and a large number of students were present.
The opening session of the international conference was presided over by Deputy Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaquat Baloch, and the opening words of the conference participants were said by Nazim-e-Ala Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba Pakistan.
The delegates of the conference paid tribute to the religious and political services of Maulana Maududi. They further said that Maulana Maududi was the 21st century’s Mujaddid for Muslim Ummah.
Syed Maududi International Conference will continue for 2 days in Lahore and the leaders of global Islamic movements will participate in the international session. There will also be a panel discussion on the concept of Islam, education, politics, Jihad and international relations at the conference.
A special discussion on women’s rights was also organized. During the conference, Maulana Maududi’s academic and research work will also be exhibited. It should be remembered that Maulana Maududi died on September 22, 1979. Maulana Maududi outlined the Islamic system of government in 1948 under the guidance of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his speeches continued to be broadcast on Radio Pakistan. In view of his religious services, Maulana Maududi was also awarded the Shah Faisal Award.
