Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) has started a nationwide campaign on the completion of 75 years (Diamond Jubilee) of its inception. The campaign will be started in flood-affected areas where tent schools will be established for the students.

While addressing a press conference, the Central Chief (Nazim e Ala) IJT Shakeel Ahmad told media persons the details of the Diamond Jubilee campaign, which include the establishment of tent schools, Salam Ustad campaign, Mera Nabi Mera Rahnuma, the revival of student unions in universities, campaign to pay tribute to Allama Iqbal and an expo.

He said that a rehabilitation education campaign would be conducted in flood-affected areas, during which tent schools will be established in flood-affected southern Punjab, Balochistan, and Sindh, where children can continue their education. He said that from October 1 to October 5, a campaign to raise awareness for respecting teachers would be conducted under the title of Salam Ustad. During this campaign, students will be informed about respecting teachers.

From October 1 to October 15, my “Meray Nabi Meray Rahnuma” campaign will be conducted in which Prophet’s biography conferences will be held as well as biography quizzes and other programs will be conducted, while from October 16 to November 5, a campaign will be conducted for the revival of the student union.

Shakeel Ahmad said that the student union is not only the constitutional and democratic right of the students but also the most crucial need of the time; students are being deprived of facilities under the guise of banning the student union. Fees are continuously increasing while students suffer from a lack of transport and hostels. He said that today the 18-year-old youth is a voter in Pakistan but does not have the right to choose his representative.

From November 6 to November 10, IJT will pay tribute to Poet of the East Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, through various events. He said that from November 11 to 30, expo/talent award shows would be held in large-scale programs throughout Pakistan.

This campaign will give prizes to students who are successful all over Pakistan. As the successful completion of 75 years of IJT is a historic milestone, the Jamiat will celebrate its 75 years as Diamond Jubilee from 1st to 20th December.
