Improvement of CEWRE urged in BoG meeting

LAHORE: Vice Chancellor University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore/Chairman Board of Governor,  Centre of Excellence in Water Resource Engineering (CEWRE) Prof Dr Syed Mansoor Sarwar chaired 74th meeting of the Board of Governors (BOG) at committee room of CEWRE.
Director Centre of Excellence presented the progress of the Centre in 2021 in respect of research publications, students admitted, graduates produced, research projects submitted, indigenization of the water related technology and patents submitted. The members appreciated the progress of the Centre and advised to improve it further in coming years.
The BoG discussed important matters related to Disparity Reduction Allowance for regular and contractual staff, house acquisition allowance, and UET’s notifications in respect of PhD fee. BoG also approved list of experts for the selection board.  The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan Director CEWRE, as Member/Secretary; Mr. Jawad Akram, Joint Secretary (Policy), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training  Islamabad; Dr. Amjad Hussain, Director General (Research & Innovation Division, HEC, Islamabad; Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) Islamabad (online); Prof. Dr. Shahid Mahmood Baig (S.I), Chairman Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad (online); Prof. Dr. Bakhshal Khan Lashari, Professor Emirates US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Water, Mehran Univ. of Engg. & Tech., Jamshoro (online) and Engr. Shahid Hameed, Advisor (Hydrology & Water Management), WAPDA, Lahore. Meeting ended with vote of thanks to and from the chair.
