Indian Forces Killing Intellectuals, Phd Scholars In Kashmir

Indian forces are killing Kashmiri intellectuals, including engineers, pilots and Phd scholars to curtail the ever-increasing passion of freedom among Kashmiri youth, renowned Kashmiri leader and human rights activist Mushaal Mullick said on Tuesday.

Addressing a seminar organized by Punjab University Directorate of Students Affairs in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, she said Indian forces were using chemical weapons on innocent Kashmiris and urged the youth to make efforts for gathering international support for the cause.

PU Faculty of Engineering and Technology Dean Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt, Faculty of Oriental Learning Dean Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, Students Affairs Director Dr Asmatullah, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

Addressing the seminar, Mushaal Mullick said the recent report of United Nations had highlighted Indian atrocities in held Kashmir which was a strong evidence to prosecute Indian forces in International Court of Justice. “Can you imagine what will be life under curfew, unemployment, no intellectual freedom and without medicine, electricity, internet and food?” she said, asking participants to use social media and send emails directly to Secretary General of United Nations in support of the Kashmir movement.

She said Kashmiri people loved two things i.e. freedom and Pakistan. “Kashmir issue is not an issue related to a particular piece of land but is Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. Draconian laws are being enforced to suppress the voice of freedom movement. However, people are not taking care of their lives and are fighting bravely against the forces,” she added.

While highlighting the brutality of Indian forces in Kashmir, she said children were abused and women were raped, leading to the genocide of innocent Kashmiris.

Addressing the seminar, Prof Dr Taqi Zahid Butt said the martyrdom of Burhan Wani created a new wave among the Kashmiri youth for freedom. He said PU teachers, employees and students were extending full support to the Kashmiri people. Teachers motivate students to use social media to raise their voices in favour of the freedom movement and soon Kashmir would be free from Indian occupation, he added.
