Indonesian University and ICCBS-UoK sign MOU

International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Sumatera Utara Indonesia.

The Memorandum of Understanding aims to promote education and academic exchanges between the two institutions.

The ICCBS Spokesman on Thursday said that the MOU was signed in an online meeting held recently. Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences, and COMSTECH Coordinator-General, and Rector of the University of Sumatera Utara Dr. Muryanto Amin signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions.

On the occasion, Prof. Iqbal Choudhary termed this agreement a very concrete step towards promotion of education and academic exchanges between two institutions. Talking about the international stature of the famous Pakistani institution, he said that the ICCBS as a center for excellence owned an international stature in the field of science and research. The international center is known for its excellence in academic research and graduates training, he said, adding that at the same time the center is serving to industries and government agencies.

According to the spokesman, the MOU intends to establish a mutually beneficial relationship built on academic, scientific and cultural cooperation between two institutions.

Areas of cooperation between ICCBS – UOK and USU include development of mutually beneficial academic and training programs, exchange of faculty and staff for purposes of teaching and research, reciprocal assistance for visiting academic faculty, staff and students, coordination of such activities as joint research and transfer of technology, and exchange of information and research materials in fields of mutual interests
