The committee tasked with investigating the alleged paper leak of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023 has submitted its recommendations to the Sindh Health Department following the conclusion of its inquiry.
After an extensive investigation, the committee has presented its findings and suggestions to the Health Department. The primary recommendation from the investigation team is to conduct a retest for all affected candidates and to take punitive measures against those found responsible for the paper leak.
Additionally, a summary outlining the key recommendations of the inquiry team has been forwarded to the provincial cabinet for their consideration and action.
In a related development, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had previously opted to re-conduct the MDCAT test in response to a cheating scandal where numerous students were apprehended using Bluetooth devices during the exam.
Furthermore, the government had taken the proactive step of engaging the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the provincial Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) to probe individuals suspected of involvement in the paper leak.
This comprehensive investigation will encompass government officials, influential figures, students, and their parents. Should any of them be found guilty of wrongdoing, both the FIA and the ACE will initiate legal proceedings against the responsible parties.
