The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Karachi has been designated as the National Chapter of the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (EE-Net) in Pakistan. This significant appointment positions IoBM to lead initiatives aimed at advancing entrepreneurship education throughout the country.
IoBM’s Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Center (SSKIC) will take the helm in driving efforts to promote entrepreneurship education. This includes organizing workshops, seminars, and other activities designed to raise awareness and foster entrepreneurial skills among aspiring business leaders.
By aligning with UNESCO’s EE-Net objectives, IoBM aims to cultivate a new generation of innovative entrepreneurs who can contribute to sustainable economic and social progress in Pakistan. This initiative stands in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, underscoring the importance of entrepreneurship in achieving broader societal objectives.
The UNESCO EE-Net’s mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of entrepreneurs and educators across the Asia-Pacific region. It seeks to leverage the insights of successful entrepreneurs to develop and update entrepreneurship education courses and materials. Additionally, the network is tasked with preparing a comprehensive seven-year plan spanning from 2024 to 2030.
IoBM’s National Chapter will focus on fostering tech start-ups, with particular emphasis on sectors such as the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Agri-Tech, Health Tech, Ed-tech, Blockchain, and the Metaverse. By nurturing innovation in these areas, IoBM aims to position Pakistan as a hub for technological advancement and entrepreneurial excellence.
The appointment of IoBM as the National Chapter of UNESCO EE-Net represents a significant milestone in the advancement of entrepreneurship education in Pakistan. Through collaborative efforts and strategic initiatives, IoBM and UNESCO EE-Net are poised to empower the next generation of Pakistani entrepreneurs, driving sustainable development and economic growth in the region.
