The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Karachi, orchestrated a memorable Alumni Reunion Dinner at the Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, uniting IoBM alumni from diverse sectors across the UAE. This special event provided an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with former colleagues and reminisce about their time at the Institute. Established in 1995, IoBM boasts a network of over 14,000 alumni, many of whom are making significant contributions in the Gulf States, North America, Australia, and beyond.

Karim, President of IoBM, and Ms. Sabina Mohsin, Vice President of the Foundation for Higher Education (IoBM’s parent company) and Chief Advisor, IoBM. The evening’s proceedings were expertly managed by Ms. Mahira Zakiuddin, a proud IoBM graduate (BBA 2005, MBA 2006).
In his keynote address, Mr. Talib S. Karim underscored the enduring mission of the late Founder President of IoBM, Mr. Shahjehan Syed Karim, to educate students who can make meaningful contributions to society post-graduation. He announced the establishment of the IoBM Endowment Fund – UAE, aimed at supporting strategic initiatives, providing scholarships and financial aid, and fostering innovation and research. Additionally, Mr. Karim proposed the creation of the IoBM Alumni UAE Chapter to strengthen ties with alumni in the region and discussed various future projects designed to elevate the Institute’s status.
Mr. Bashir Janmohammad, Chancellor of IoBM, paid tribute to the late Mr. Shahjehan S. Karim, acknowledging his visionary leadership in establishing IoBM. He emphasized the critical role IoBM alumni play as the backbone of the Institute and encouraged them to continue contributing to IoBM and society at large.
The event also featured Mr. Salman Beg, General Secretary of Global Outreach and Engagement for the IoBM Alumni Association and a member of IoBM’s first MBA Executive batch (1995). He encouraged alumni to maintain strong connections and collaborations with their peers, essential for the growth and success of the alumni network. Syed Faraz Ali, Manager of the Alumni Office at IoBM, delivered the vote of thanks, highlighting the importance of such gatherings in fostering greater engagement within the IoBM alumni community worldwide.
The evening concluded with a captivating musical performance, leaving attendees with fond memories and a renewed sense of connection to their alma mater. This reunion not only celebrated the achievements of IoBM alumni but also reinforced the strong, enduring bonds formed at the Institute, promising a bright future of continued collaboration and success.
