IoBM Represents Pakistan at 10th UNESCO-APEID Meeting

The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) Karachi proudly represented Pakistan at the 10th UNESCO-APEID Meeting on Entrepreneurship Education, held in Uzbekistan. The prestigious event, organized by UNESCO, the government of Uzbekistan, and Alfraganus University (AFU), brought together over 200 participants from 35 countries, including educators, policymakers, practitioners, and key stakeholders in entrepreneurship education.

Leading Pakistan’s delegation was Mr Raza Abbas, Head of IoBM’s Shahjehan Syed Karim Incubation Center (SSKIC) and the Focal Person for the UNESCO Entrepreneurship Education Network (Pakistan Chapter). Mr Abbas showcased Pakistan’s achievements in fostering inclusive entrepreneurship education, emphasizing the need for collaborative leadership and strong partnerships with other National Chapters to maximize sustainable impact. He also highlighted the importance of empowering women, marginalized communities, and school educators to expand the reach of entrepreneurship education across all sectors of society.

A notable feature of the event was the virtual participation of two standout entrepreneurs from IoBM-SSKIC’s Cohort 3. Ms Shahma Aroob, founder of ‘Filtresha,’ and Mr Kunwar Shahroz Ali Khan, founder of ‘Zarai Baramdaat,’ presented their innovative start-ups to an international audience, showcasing Pakistan’s growing contributions to sustainable entrepreneurship.

The meeting underscored the significance of global collaboration in entrepreneurship education, with participating countries sharing best practices and forging new partnerships. Pakistan’s active engagement, led by IoBM, highlights the nation’s commitment to advancing entrepreneurship education and positioning itself as a key player in sustainable innovation.

The 10th UNESCO-APEID Meeting reaffirms the role of entrepreneurship education in addressing societal challenges and building a sustainable future, with IoBM Karachi at the forefront of these efforts in Pakistan.
