Iqra University (IU) chairman Hunaid Lakhani on Sunday inaugurated Iqra Cricket Academy on the varsity’s north campus.

Speaking on the occasion, IU vice chancellor Dr Wasim Qaz said that sports activities are mandatory for students to make them hard-working and physically fit. The sports competitions improve the skills of youth and make them even more enthusiastic and energetic

He praised and applauded the students and teachers of all campuses for their energetic participation in the inter-campus tournament. Along with academic activities, various sports competitions will also be continued so that our students can play a prominent role in every field, he said.

The well-known and the most talented Pakistani cricketers Fawad Alam and Muhammad Sami also became an honorable part of inaugural ceremony of Iqra Cricket Academy as Chief guests, and they were presented with a bouquet and a shield by the Campus Director, Dr Syed Ali Raza.

Dr Imtiaz Arif, Mr Kamran Kazmi Khan, Dr Syed Shiraz and Mr Moeed Khaliq were also present on this auspicious occasion.

At the conclusion of this match, Farhad Ali received the best bowler award, Syed Sohaib received the runner-up trophy, Abdul Basit secured the man of the match award and other prizes were distributed amongst the students and the teachers who participated in full swing and zeal.
