The 2nd international conference on Seerat-un-Nabi was organized by the Seerat Chair, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) at the main auditorium.
The conference was inaugurated by Commissioner Bahawalpur Raja Jahangir Anwar and presided over by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Naveed Akhtar. Former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi, Prof Dr Hammad Lakhvi, Dean Faculty of the Islamic Studies University of Punjab, Dr Syed Aziz Ur Rehman, Regional InCharge Sindh Dawa Center Karachi and Prof Dr Sheikh Shafiq Ur-Rehman, Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur were present on the occasion.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Raja Jahangir Anwar in his address said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the cause of the creation of the universe and his life is a beacon of light for us. He said that the youth should pledge that they would adapt their lives to the teachings of the Holy Prophet. He said that in the present age, contrary to the rumors, propaganda and social media facts, information should not be disseminated and in the light of biography, only what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears. He said that the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a center of knowledge and literature and besides the teaching activities held here, conferences and seminars are of international standard and for Bahawalpur the university is no less than an asset.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Naveed Akhtar in his address said that Muslims should show unity and solidarity and sincerely follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning Prof Dr Sheikh Shafiq Ur Rehman said that due to the special patronage and attention of Vice Chancellor Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob, various chairs have been functioning in the university and Seerat Chair has also become active after a long time Conferences have been organized and in addition national level seminars and workshops are being held every month and this chair has become very active and is playing a very important role in the dissemination of Seerat-e-Pak.
Director Seerat Chair Dr Sajeela Kausar said that Seerat Chair was established in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in 1987 so that Seerat writers could lead the country and nation in the light of their research and thought of Islam. The Seerat Chair is not only a center of excellence for research and study but also serves as a center for the Seerat Chair of other universities. Seerat Chair at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in the light of modern requirements, research of Seerat-e-Taiba and Hadith-e-Nabawi has been published.
Providing books in the library, conducting scientific and research reviews, training workshops, seminars and conferences on the Prophet’s biography nationally and internationally. Writing and speaking competitions on various topics were also organized for the students. An ideal library has been laid under the chair which has a vast collection of rare and rare reference books related to Seerat-e-Taiba. Seerat Chair the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has organized 2 national and 8 international conferences. In keeping with its tradition, Seerat Chair the Islamia University of Bahawalpur organized the Second International Seerat Chair Conference in the light of the etiquette of Seerat-un-Nabi in which rare scholars and researchers of the country are participating so that the intellectual guidance of the Muslim Ummah is possible.
