IUB celebrates World Food Day

World Food Day 2022 was celebrated by the Department of Food Science and Technology, at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).

In this regard, a seminar and awareness walk were organized in the auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus. Vice-Chancellor IUB Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob inaugurated the World Food Day. In his address, Engr Prof Dr Athar Mahboob said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to identify millions of people who do not have access to quality and healthy food. The theme of World Food Day this year is no one else.

The day is being celebrated at a time when the world is facing various challenges, including the Covid-19 epidemic, inter-country conflicts, climate change, inflation and rising food prices. There are prices. Due to all these reasons, the world is facing a serious food security threat.

Dr Muhammad Asif Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Food Science and Technology was the focal person of the event. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment/Registrar, Prof Dr Moazzam Jamil, Regional Officer CTD, Shamsuddin, Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority (PFA), Noman Younis, Chairman, Department of Food Science and Technology, Dr Zulfikar Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Biological and Chemical Sciences Professor Dr Shazia Anjum, Director Institute of Chemistry Professor Dr Abdul Rauf, Associate Professor Department of Forestry Range and Wildlife Management Dr Muhammad Rafi, Heads of all departments of Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and other officers were also present.
