A delegation from the Institute of Physics at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has arrived at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) for a short-term collaborative attachment under the PAK-UK Education Gateway Faculty Mobility Program. This initiative aims to foster academic and research collaboration between the two institutions over the next 2-3 weeks.

Alongside him, the team includes distinguished members such as Dr Kaniz Rabia, Project Lead and Associate Professor, and other notable academics including Dr Faisal Iqbal, Dr Aalia Nazir, Dr Rao Muhammad Shahid Khan, Dr Ayesha Ikhlaq, Dr Usman Mustafa, Dr Tauseef Munawar, and Ms Mamona Aslam.
During their stay, the delegation will engage in a variety of academic and research activities. Their itinerary includes visits to various research laboratories within QMUL’s School of Physics and Chemical Sciences, and the School of Engineering and Material Sciences. The group is set to participate in workshops and training sessions focused on several cutting-edge research areas such as material characterization, energy and battery devices, sustainable and green energy solutions, and biomedical and medical physics applications.
This collaborative effort is expected to enhance the research capabilities and international outlook of both institutions. By sharing knowledge and expertise, the program aims to contribute significantly to advancements in fields critical to both countries’ scientific and technological development.
Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad Buzdar expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership represents a significant step forward in our mission to advance scientific research and education. The PAK-UK Education Gateway Faculty Mobility Program is an initiative designed to promote academic collaboration and faculty exchanges between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. It aims to bridge the gap between the educational sectors of both countries, fostering mutual growth and understanding through joint research and academic activities.
As the delegation embarks on this academic venture, it is anticipated that the outcomes will pave the way for future collaborations, driving innovation and excellence in various scientific disciplines.
