The NMC was organized under the umbrella of Bahawalpur Literary and Cultural Festival for the promotion of entertainment, education and information across the country.

The media conclave titled “Seventy Five Years of Pakistan’s Independence Markaz-e-Yaqaeen” was attended by senior columnist and anchorperson Nazir Leghari, renowned novelist Amna Mufti, Pakistan’s first PhD in the field of film industry and renowned researcher and poet Dr Aqeel Abbas Jafferi, Captain national hockey team Muhammad Umar Bhutta, national cricket player Abid Ali, Station Director Radio Pakistan Lahore Nazakat Shakila, Renowned Motivational Speaker Dr Javed Iqbal, Renowned Folk Singer Rahat Bano Multanikar and Radio Pakistan’s Controller News Sajjad Parvez.

Nazir Laghari in his address said that said that South Punjab is the main belt of the Country which possesses rich culture and shares cordial relations with other parts of Pakistan. The Media Conclave, was attended by

Station Director, Radio Pakistan Nazakat Shakila briefed the participants that Radio Pakistan has become the only source of information for the people of Occupied Kashmir as India has blocked all media channels and other sources of information in Kashmir Valley, Laddakh and Jammu.

Aqeel Abbas Jaffari said that the government is taking concrete measures for the revival of the film industry in the Country. He said that youth is contributing a key part in the revival of industry by producing quality dramas and films.

Amna Mufti said that Social media is serving its generation positively by giving a wide range spectrum in the field of research and education.

Dr Javed Iqbal said that it’s our prior responsibility to transfer our experience and knowledge to the next generations. Renowned Folk Singer Rahat Bano Multanikar said that the Literary Festival is contributing an important role in the promotion of culture and art of this region.

Later, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University, Prof Dr. Athar Mahboob thanked the participants and also shed light on the importance of holding such a type of literary and cultural festival for the character building of students at the University level. He also distributed shields among the participants and moderator of the Media Conclave. The Media Conclave was attended by a large number of students, faculty members and notables of Bahawalpur City.
