IUB, SMIU sign MoU for collaboration in Environment sciences education

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Agroindustry and Environment of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) and the Department of Environmental Sciences of Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) Karachi for mutual cooperation and collaboration.

Prof Dr Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor IUB and Prof Dr Mujeeb ud Din Sehrai, Vice Chancellor SMIU Karachi signed the MoU on behalf of their institutions. Under the agreement, the two institutes will initiate joint research projects with collaboration in teaching and research at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels in environmental sciences and business.

Prof Dr Athar Mahboob said that Sindh Madressatul Islam University Karachi is a historical institution where the founder of Pakistan, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah studied. A visit to this institution is a source of heart-felt joy and desire.

Prof Dr Mujeeb ud Din Sehrai said that recently he had the opportunity to visit the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and witnessed the extraordinary growth and expansion and quality teaching and research in the university. This university is an emerging higher education institution not only in Pakistan but globally.

Director Institute of Industry and Environment the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Dr Ghulam Hassan Abbasi and Dr Imran Ali, InCharge Department of Environmental Sciences Sindh Madressatul Islam University Karachi and Executive Secretary to Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur Muhammad Khalid Sheikh were also present on this occasion.
