The Pakistan Education Endowment Fundv (PEEF) has awarded 19 fully funded scholarships to students of the University College of Nursing at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) for the batch of 2023-24. The scholarships, totaling more than 4.3 million PKR, were distributed during a ceremony held today at the university.

Mr. Farhan Mukhtar, Principal of the University College of Nursing, briefed the attendees about the significant financial support provided by PEEF, highlighting its impact on the students’ academic and professional futures.

Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of the university, expressed his profound gratitude to the PEEF management for their generous support towards the nursing students. “This financial assistance will enable our students to focus on their studies without the burden of financial constraints, allowing them to excel in their academic pursuits and future careers,” he stated.

During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar personally distributed the scholarship cheques to the successful candidates. The event was also graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. Asad Ullah Madni, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), and Prof. Dr. Areeba Khan, Director of the Directorate of Financial Aid (DFA) and member of the Institutional Scholarship Award Committee (ISAC).

The scholarships are part of PEEF’s ongoing efforts to support higher education in Pakistan by providing financial aid to deserving students. These scholarships are expected to significantly contribute to the development of the nursing profession in Pakistan, ensuring that students have the resources they need to complete their education and enter the healthcare field well-prepared.
