IUB to get first ever game studio to develop gaming softwares

Game District, an emerging mobile games leader company, will establish a game studio at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB).

This was agreed during the visit of Prof Dr Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor to Games District Office in Lahore. On this occasion, the CEO Game District Saad Hameed briefed that his company has a project alliance with the world-renowned companies like NFL, Hobbits, LEGO, and Outfit7 to produce outstanding mobile games.

Prof Dr Athar Mahboob said that mobile games development companies are playing a significant role in Digital Learning & Information Technology and contributing to the economy. Both sides agreed to promote mobile games through mutual collaboration, and Game District will provide necessary equipment worth Rs.2 million to establish a mobile game studio at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.

Rizwan Majeed, Director IT IUB and Umair Majeed CEO Ditecs AI were also present on this occasion. Rizwan Majeed said that during the recent years, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has shown tremendous progress in IT education and research, and federal, provincial as well as renowned IT companies are offering support to promote joint ventures in this sector. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is already engaged with the federal IT Ministry, Punjab Information Technology Board, Punjab Software Export Board, and other organizations on various projects.

Vice Chancellor’s visit to the Game District was also connected with the University’s efforts to explore opportunities in the latest fields of information Technology.
