The Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences Pakistan (IUCPSS) and Mir Chakar Khan Rind University of Technology (MCUT) Dera Ghazi Khan have signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance collaboration in the field of social sciences and interdisciplinary research. The signing ceremony, held in Islamabad, was graced by Prof Dr Muhammad Mukhtar, Vice Chancellor of National Skills University (NSU) and founding chairman of IUCPSS.

The MOU was formally signed by Prof Dr Mehmood Saleem, Vice Chancellor of Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, and Muhammad Murtaza Noor, National Coordinator of IUCPSS. This partnership is set to foster cooperation in various areas, including faculty and student exchanges, curriculum development, and bridging gaps between academia and industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Dr. Mehmood Saleem expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the benefits it would bring to students and faculty. “Joining the largest network of Pakistani universities will provide our students and faculty with invaluable opportunities and exposure to best practices and expertise,” he said.

A key aspect of the collaboration is Mir Chakar Khan University of Technology’s integration into the Student Societies Network. This initiative aims to connect students with members of other campus-based student societies and clubs across Pakistan, fostering a sense of community and shared learning.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar commended the decade-long contributions of IUCPSS, emphasizing the importance of such collaborations in promoting innovation in teaching and research. He stated, “This partnership will equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in their careers and will drive forward interdisciplinary research that can address pressing societal challenges.”

The collaboration is expected to enhance the academic landscape in Pakistan, promoting the development of skilled professionals and researchers equipped to contribute to the country’s progress.
