Entrance Examinations were held at Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D) of Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS-JSMU) and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for Bachelors of Science in Nursing BSN (Generic) College of Nursing, on December 11, 2021.
Acting Vice Chancellor JSMU and Executive Director JPMC Professor Shahid Rasul visited the examination sites to monitor the process and addressed the aspiring candidates of BSN (Generic) and Pharm. D, ‘JSMU and JPMC are encouraged by the growth in applications and young aspiring candidates pursuing a medical career. Especially now, with the Pandemic intensifying with each wave. I believe the newer generation of medical professionals will contest with increased competition in the field.’
Office of Admissions JSMU organised the entrance examination at three JSMU cluster centers and provided invigilators and supporting staff at SIOHS-JSMU, SMC-JSMU, and JSMU Campus 2. 2600 candidates contested for 100 seats in Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D), a five-year degree programme, in which 70 seats are for open merit and 30 seats for self-finance. Earlier, IPS-JSMU received recognition by the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) in the approved list of institutions for teaching Pharm. D programme, under the Pharmacy Act, 1967. All IPS-JSMU batches have been recognised by PCP  since 2019.
While, 400 candidates appeared for a total of 50 seats, equally dispersed among boys and girls. BSN (Generic) is a four-year degree programme with a one-year mandatory internship. The semester fees for BSN (Generic) are 50,000/- per semester.
