KC Calls Off Khalilur Rahman’s Visit After Student Outcry

After massive criticism from current and former students, Kinnaird College for Women Lahore called off discussion session with famous playwright Khalilur Rahman Qamar .

An interactive session with Khalilur Rahman Qamar was announced by KC’s Center for Learning and Cultural Development. Renowned Director Agha Jarrar was also invited in the event.

The students criticized the college management for inviting a drama writer who has been insulting women in his dramas specially in his  current drama  “Mery Pass Tum Ho”.

Students also blamed Khalil ur Rahman for his controversial misogynistic remarks. Such personalities should stay away from educational institutions, students claimed.

Khalil ur Rahman Qamar’s current drama is being criticized by a large number of people on Twitter and other social media due to its controversial story, dialogues and insulting remarks for women.
