KCLCD holds Digital Media and Communication conference

Kinnaird Centre for Learning & Cultural Development (KCLCD) organized an enlightening conference on Digital Media and Communication. The conference was designed as a platform to facilitate Mass Media students, researchers, practitioners and policymakers in the field of Digital Media and Communication to interact and exchange ideas, and discuss their works, opinions and dialogues.

Ms Maha Jamil, Director KCLCD welcomed the participants of the Digital Media conference. In the inaugural speech, Maha Jamil said that the one-day conference unites diverse researchers and presenters from all over Pakistan. She shared that communication is vital to life, yet it is largely ignored ever up to the level of disability Communication disabilities are significant and can affect every aspect of a person’s life. The United Nations Sustainable Development goals provide us with a unique opportunity to address this formidable reality.

Prominent speakers and professionals such as Mr Khalid Chishti and Haseeb Khan graced the conference as guest speakers and put light on interesting topics such as Advertising, Digital Marketing, Public Relations, Communication in Digital Media and Use of New Technology, International Communication for Sustainable Development. The distinguished speakers share their vision and way forward in the digital age of communication.

Executive director of KCLCD – Mr Rizwan Anwar in his speech briefed that KCLCD has a special focus on training to provide quality work culturally to sustain professional growth and excellence. It provides women an opportunity to take on leadership roles through acquiring professional knowledge in their chosen fields. This conference is a part of the same process and it will help the participants to enlighten themselves with the latest practices and skills of digital media.

A thought-provoking panel discussion on the latest advertising trends and international communication for sustainable development proved the highlight of the conference. Renowned speakers exchanged their thoughts with the participants and shared that advertising has emerged in new dimensions like digital marketing. It is important to learn how to communicate on digital media and then building public relations are the key to success in terms of marketing.

Dr Ruksana David principal Kinnaird College thanked the participants for their valuable contributions. She distributed the certificates among all the speakers and participants. She said that Positive communications are the foundation of professional building relationships in both personal and professional lives. She vowed that Kinnaird College will arrange more such programs for exchange of ideas, research and promotion of knowledge in future.
