Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, while addressing the 8th convocation of Karachi Medical and Dental College (KMDC) as a special guest on Saturday, has said that the promotion of higher education in Pakistan is necessary, medical graduates should spare no effort in the service of humanity.
On the occasion Principal KMDC Professor Dr Nargis Anjum, Vice Chancellors of various universities, KMDC governing body members, and faculty were also present.
During the convocation Governor Sindh distributed degrees and medals to MBBS and BDS students of Karachi Medical and Dental College and congratulated them.
He also said that KMDC has rendered outstanding services in the field of medical education. The college is considered one of the best medical colleges in the country. He said that we need doctors who believe in serving humanity.
He said that he will try hard to give KMDC the status of a university. A medical college will also be established in Hyderabad, he said.
Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rahman in his address said that treatment is a basic human need and there is a dire need of competent doctors in Pakistan. The doctors of Karachi Medical and Dental College have always provided excellent services. The KMDC is the only medical college in Pakistan under a local authority.
In the convocation, the KMDC awarded degrees to more than five hundred students.
