KMU Syndicate Holds 43rd Meeting

The 43rd meeting of the Khyber Medical University (KMU) Syndicate convened under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, Meritorious Professor Dr. Zia Ul Haq. The meeting saw the attendance of notable figures including Registrar KMU Inam Ullah Khan Wazir, Justice (R) Abdul Aziz Kundi, Additional Secretary Health Sadaqat Ullah, Additional Secretary Higher Education Department Javed Iqbal, Additional Secretary Establishment Jamshed Khan, and Syed Ibrahim Shah, Additional Secretary Finance, alongside other syndicate members.

Dr. Zia Ul Haq commenced the meeting with a warm welcome to all participants and introduced the proposed budget as recommended by the Finance & Planning Committee (F&PC). The Vice Chancellor also elaborated on KMU’s strategic plan for the years 2023-2028. This comprehensive plan focuses on financial sustainability and development, the solarization of the KMU main campus and its constituent institutes for cost efficiency, and the implementation of E-Assessment to enhance academic processes.

The forum expressed its appreciation for KMU’s surplus budget, which reflects the university’s robust financial health. Additionally, the Syndicate approved a minor increase in the fee for the Pharm-D course, ensuring the continued provision of high-quality education.

KMU’s outstanding performance in the national research rankings was a highlight of the meeting. Members proudly acknowledged that KMU leads in research within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is ranked among the top ten universities nationally. This achievement underscores the university’s commitment to academic excellence and research innovation.

In his address, Vice Chancellor Dr. Zia Ul Haq reiterated KMU’s ambition to gain global recognition for its exceptional research contributions. He emphasized that this strategic objective will be a primary focus over the next five years, aligning with the university’s mission to elevate its academic and research standards to international levels.

The meeting concluded on a note of optimism, with members expressing their support for the initiatives outlined and their confidence in the leadership of Dr. Zia Ul Haq to steer KMU towards new heights of success and recognition.
