Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bans Men from Entering Female Schools

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Elementry and Secondary Education Department (ESE) has banned the entry of men into female schools across the province.

The decision follows a number of complaints filed at the Citizen’s Portal against allowing males to enter female schools.

According to a notification issued by the KP Director of Education, men’s entry has been banned in female schools. Schools have also been instructed not to invite any male chief guests to any events or programs. Only female chief guests are allowed to attend events at female schools in KP.

This decision comes on the heels of another unprecedented move by the KP government earlier this year, when it approved a proposal to appoint only female teachers at government-run primary education institutes across the province.

The move to ban men from entering female schools has been met with mixed reactions. Some have welcomed the decision, saying that it will create a safer and more conducive learning environment for girls. Others have criticized the decision, saying that it is discriminatory and will deprive girls of the opportunity to interact with male teachers and role models.
