KU awards 15 PhD, 30 MPhil, and three MS degrees

The Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Karachi on Wednesday awarded 15 PhD, 30 MPhil, one Master of Surgery, and two M.S. Course Work of 30 credit hours degrees in various disciplines.

The KU Registrar Professor Dr Maqsood Ali Ansari said that the ASRB in the recently held meeting under the chairmanship of the KU’s acting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasira Khatoon awarded these degrees on Monday.

According to him, the MPhil degrees were awarded Dr Faiza Fatima from Microbiology Department, Syeda Ismat Zehra and Saeed Akbar bagged MPhil degrees in Mathematics, Bilal Jawed completed his MPhil degree in Pharmacology, Sarah Tarique in Biochemistry, Muzamil Rahim in Social Work, Munnaza Nazir in Sindhi, Muhammad Abdur Rehman Tahir and Naheed in Urdu, Najeeb Ullah, Mariya Ahmed Qureshi, Alamgir Khan, Anila Perveen, and Sajjad Hussain in Applied Economics, Ashraf Ali in Nematology, Saba Abrar in Physics, Syed Ali Hamza in Islamic Learning, Muhammad Shahbaz, Israr Ali, and Anam Alam in Chemistry, Zahid Din in Marine Science, Muneeb Yousuf, Muhammad Arslan, and Farah Anwer Kayani in Chemistry, Faisal Shaheen in Islamic History, Hira Khan in Space Science, Faiza Saleem in Zoology, Syed Irtiza Ali in Biotechnology, Fatima Iqbal Ahmed in Biotechnology.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that PhD degrees were awarded to Tayyeba Kiran in Psychology. Muneza completed her doctorate degree in Applied Economics, Nisar Ahmed in Social Work, Rashid Jamal in Political Science, Warda Rehman and Heena in Chemistry, Nizakat Ali in Chemistry, Tahir Mahmood in Quran and Sunnah, Syeda Roohina Ali in Molecular Medicine, Rizwana Yasmin in Microbiology, Nida Sohail in Biochemistry, Samrina Ahmed in Botany, Raoof Muhammad in Marine Biology, Faiza Khatoon in Persian, and Mahwish Mobeen Khan in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Technology.

Furthermore, he shared that the Master of Surgery was awarded to Dr Fahad Hasan in Orthopaedic while two M.S. Course Work  degrees were awarded to Rafi Alam and Muhammad Haneef.
