LinkedIn

The unannounced power outage from 6 to 8 hours in Karachi University has disrupted online classes and essential on campus  office work.

According to the teachers and administration, the varsity daily faces power outages of 10 to 12 hours. The power cut has become routine due to which chemicals of the laboratories and other equipment worth Rs millions are also affected. Online classes are badly affected. The teachers and students are forced to use offline resources for learning and teaching.

The teachers say that if the situation remained the same, it would be difficult for faculty members to complete the courses before the semester exams. Karachi University was exempted from load shedding by K Electric due to its educational and research institution.

The press statement issued by a member of the Karachi University Teachers Society read that the varsity faces an average of 10 to 12 hours of load shedding a day. Due to which, along with the academic losses, the office affairs are also being severely affected. We demanded the concerned authorities and K Electric to immediately end load shedding in Karachi University.
