The University of Karachi and the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir inked the memorandum of understanding to establish inter-institutional cooperation and academic collaboration by supporting academic and research activities among the faculty and students of both varsities.

The Director Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization of the UAJK Dr Mohammad Naeem and the Director ORIC KU Professor Dr Aliya Rehman signed the MoU documents.

As per the MoU, UAJK faculty members, as well as students, would be benefitted from research projects and could take part in the development activities, industry visits, joint seminars, conferences, workshops, special lectures and training sessions.

According to the MoU, students of UAJK would avail the Karachi University Business Incubation Centre established at the University of Karachi.

Under this MoU, both the two universities would be able to support each other in various fields including zoology, botany, information technology, social sciences.

The management of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also suggested setting up of AJK Corner in the University of Karachi. Meanwhile, UAJK Registrar Dr Ayesha Sohail, UAJK Director Planning Professor Dr Ansar Yaseen and the Director Finance Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqui Awan, heads of various departments, KU ORIC Manager Research Operation Dr Asma Tabassum were also present on this occasion.
