Sindhi literature is rich in its form and functions. Universities have produced great literature in Sindhi language after the creation of Pakistan. Sindhi Prose, poetry, criticism and linguistic research is being held at Karachi University’s Sindhi department. We have to produce market language for the common men.
These views were expressed by scholars while addressing the second day session of the two-day golden jubilee celebration of the Department of Sindhi of the University of Karachi. The Department of Sindhi has organized the two-day literacy conference event at Arts Auditorium to mark the 50th year of the establishment of the Sindhi department. The golden jubilee celebration comes to an ends on a high note on Thursday.
Two literary sessions were presided by Dr Fahmida Hussain and Imdad Hussaini. They distributed shields among the scholars who presented their research paper on the occasion. Dr Ishaq Samejo, Dr Makhmoor Bukhari, Dr Mubarak Lashari and Dr Shazia Pitafi from Sindh University, Dr Manzoor Vesrio from AIOU Islamabad, Dr Ghafoor Memon, Dr Sher Mehrani, Dr Sajida Parveen from Sindhi department KU, DC Kiamari Mukhtiar Ali Abro and Taj Joyo presented their papers on research, linguistic, criticism and poetry produced during last 75 years.
Director Shah Abdul Latif Bhattai Chair, University of Karachi, Professor Saleem Memon and the Chairperson Department of Sindhi Professor Dr Naheed Parveen acknowledged the presence and participation of people from different walk.
