KU VC condoles sad demise of former DG KIBGE Dr Naqvi

The Vice-Chancellor University of Karachi (KU) Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, the Director General Karachi University  Dr A Q Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Energy (KIBGE) Prof Dr Abid Azhar, faculty and students of the Institute express profound grief over the sad demise of veteran professor and the founding DG Dr Hasan Mujtaba Naqvi.

The late DG KIBGE Prof Dr Hasan Mujtaba Naqvi died in Karachi. He was of 82. Dr Naqvi got his PhD in Biochemistry from Edinburgh University, UK. Born in Amroha, Dr Naqvi also served at the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC). He was the director of Nuclear Institute for Agriculture and Biology (NIAB), Faisalabad, and was also the founding Director General of National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (NIBGE), Faisalabad.

The DG KIBGE Professor Dr Abid Azhar has termed the death of Dr Naqvi as a loss of a very learned person. He mentioned that Dr Naqvi belonged to the old generation of very high moral values. He said that Dr Naqvi was a literary person who had seen the creation of Pakistan and had been an ambassador of the good values of the country throughout his life.

Meanwhile, the KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi mentioned that this is indeed an irreplaceable loss. We pray that Almighty Allah gives strength to his family to bear this enormous loss. He will surely be remembered in our hearts.
