Department of Microbiology and Department of Environmental Sciences, Kohsar University Murree (KUM) celebrated World Environment Day, Under the theme “Say No to Plastic.”
The event was chaired by Prof Dr Syed Habib Ali Bokhari Vice-Chancellor Kohsar University whereas Prof Dr Asif (Cardiologist) participated as Chief Guest.
During the event, a brief talk about how to protect our environment from Plastic Pollution was given by Prof Dr Asif and Prof Dr Syed Habib Ali Bokhari. The chief guest appreciated the Posters and Models presented by students and encouraged them to be a part of community services.
Vice-Chancellor KUM Dr Habib Ali Bokhari in his address said that we have made the use of plastic common for our convenience which is causing disaster for the world. He said that everyone has to play a role in systematic awareness campaigns, legislation and policy-making to control pollution caused by plastic. He praised the government institutions for introducing the subject of environment at the school level.
An awareness Walk regarding Protection from Plastic pollution was carried out from Jhika Gali campus to Jhika Gali Chowk. In the end, the Chief Guest appreciated event organizers Dr Sadia Mehmood Satti, Dr Asma Waseem and Dr Shahida for their efforts.
