The Legal Aid Society (LAS) and the Directorate of Legal Education (DLE) of the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) have signed a partnership to enhance legal education standards nationwide.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed recently at the Committee Hall of the Pakistan Bar Council in the Supreme Court Building.
The DLE, an independent entity under the PBC, was formed to implement Supreme Court directives to improve the quality of legal education in Pakistan. Under the leadership of Director Barrister Usama Malik, the DLE focuses on curriculum development, teacher training, legal research, and regulation of legal education institutions to ensure compliance with set standards.
This collaboration between LAS and DLE aims to introduce strategic initiatives, such as curriculum enhancement, specialized training programs for educators, and the promotion of legal research, according to a press release.
It added that by combining their expertise, both organizations aim to prepare legal professionals capable of addressing modern challenges and upholding the rule of law in Pakistan.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent figures from the legal community, including Haroon Rashid, Member and former Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council, Barrister Ehtesham Aminduddin, and Gulzar Ahmad, Secretary of the PBC.
