The country head of Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF), a German international organization, visited Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).

In her meeting with Ms Birgit Lamm, Professor Dr Bushra Mirza, Vice Chancellor of LCWU, explained the pertinent role of LCWU in upholding the cause of women empowerment through various projects untaken by the faculty of LCWU.

Dr Mirza and Ms Lamm also exchanged ideas about the on-going projects of LCWU with German Higher Education Institutions and explored about areas of mutual interest for future collaboration between LCWU and FNF.

Among these were included women empowerment in areas of digital marketing, crises and disaster management, engineering, economic empowerment, media literacy, etc. Following that, Professor Dr M Afzal, Dean for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS), welcomed Ms Lamm and introduced her to the key professors, director of Faculty Development and Internationalization (DFDI), and the faculty of FASS-LCWU who attended Ms Lamm’s seminar on FNF’s commitment towards “Women Empowerment through social mobility” in Pakistan.

Ms Birgit Lamm highlighted that examples of women empowerment are present in every sector and walk of life. And these must be explored and shared with our younger generations for their effective training in leadership and management skills for various tasks in life.

The FNF’s delegation appreciated the active participation of the faculty attending the session, the research achievements and beautiful historic campus of LCWU. Ms Lamm and the FNF delegation thanked Dr Sumaira Noreen of the History Department, LCWU for inviting them to LCWU and coordinating their fruitful visit to LCWU.
