LCWU Establishes Online Counseling Center For Psychological Support

In the wake of the current pandemic, where the general community is going through psychological pressure and imbalance, the Lahore College for Women University, in a joint venture with International Young Psychologists Society, is launching Online Counseling in the light of the spread of COVID-19, Corona virus.

The objective behind this project is to help those in need on a smaller scale; initially without cost. Due to the rising number of Covid-19 patients, public anxiety and general stress is on the rise. Thus, main target will be the general public, who is going through pressure and mental health issues.

The project will facilitate in corona consultation, briefing about corona and precautions, counseling quarantine patients and caregivers, dealing with stress, anxiety and depression while also addressing psycho-social aspects of coronavirus, bereavement counseling to families and health tips to boost immunity.

In a statement given by Prof Dr Bushra Mirza Vice Chancellor Lahore College for Women University  & the Project Patron In Chief said, ”By counseling the patients with regards to coronavirus, we will outcast the anxiety and will help people who are helpless. We expect that this project will bring some positive change in people’s life. This project can help people achieve a sense of self-actualization and serenity in their lives. On both ends, the community will grow and flourish, as we believe, changing one life is worth changing a thousand lives “.

According to Dr Amina Muazzam Head Active Citizen Program LCWU, Online Counseling is a procedure designed where young psychologists will be appointed to certain individuals who are in requirement of a therapy or counseling for relief, relaxation and sobering.
