Lahore: A seminar and Panel Discussion on “Let’s Payback, Industry-Academia Linkages” was organized at the Main Campus of the University of Education, Lahore on April 19, 2022, in which renowned Trainers and Professionals participated.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor University of Education, Lahore Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said that the prevailing concepts of education and training have changed immensely in modern times. Universities today can be the best tool for industrial, social and economic development for any country. Strong links between the industrial and educational sectors are an important means of tackling economic challenges, so cooperation between educational institutions and industries is essential for the country to move on new paths of development.

He said that it was the responsibility of the universities to take a step forward and establish links with industry, on the other hand the industrialists and the government should also support the universities to promote the culture of research and development. The Vice Chancellor said that students, entrepreneurs, engineers and economic planners should adapt to the requirements of modern times. Addressing the Industry academia linkages seminar, the guest speakers said that relations between universities and industries are an integral part of national development and prosperity. Future development depends on how strong the scientific and technical link between universities and industries. They said that in order to achieve this goal, all the universities would have to partner with the local industries of their areas and contribute to its development efforts and the University of Education, Lahore deserves congratulations in this regard. The Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arshad also addressed the seminar.

Hassan Raza, Leading HR Consultant, Arshad Ali, Manager HR PEL, Saba Chaudhry, Supply Chain Professional NESTLE, Haroon Akhtar CHRO OZi Technologies and Miraj Nadeem, Joint Director HR PITB were also present on the occasion. In the end, Dr. Shahzada Qaiser, Director Research, University of Education thanked the participants of the Seminar and Panel Discussion.

Meanwhile, Directorate of Student Counseling Center, University of Education, Lahore organized an awareness session on Fulbright Scholarship and other Exchange Programs offered by the US Consulate General, Lahore, in which the US Consulate General, Lahore Education Advisor Public Diplomacy Section Ms. Sumayya Tariq and Cultural Affairs Assistant Exchange Ms. Attiya Batool provided full guidance to the participants and students regarding Fulbright Scholarship and other Exchange Programs. At the end, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) thanked the participants of the session. Dr. Ahsan Bashir, Director Student Counseling Center and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
