To mark the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan, the Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS) Jamshoro Vice Chancellor Prof Ikram Din Ujjan performed the national flag hoisting ceremony at the Academic Block.
The ceremony was followed by a program arranged for the students with the theme “Encouraging National Integration and Peace Building” where students delivered speeches on the subject.
While addressing the participants Prof Ikram Din Ujjan stressed upon unity and harmony and said that the entire nation has to work hard, irrespective of factional or individual interests, and called upon all the professionals to perform up to the peak of excellence for progress and development of the country.
He added that this day reminds us of the untiring efforts and sacrifices rendered by our forefathers to protect and maintain our religious, cultural, and social values with honor. It also reminds us of the objectives that led to the creation of an independent Muslim state. This day recognizes our spirit to make Pakistan stand out in the world as a dignified country.
A large number of Faculty Members, students, and staff of LUMHS participated in the Independence Day event and prayed for prosperity and peace in the country.
