A one-day workshop on “Student Mental Counseling and Mental Health” for all female hostel wardens was held at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Tuesday.
The seminar was organized by Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences while the Vice Chancellor Prof. Ikram Din Ujjan, Prof. Dr. Moin Ahmad Ansari, chairman Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Department and Dr. Jamil Junejo, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, Jamshoro spoke on the occasion.
They guided the wardens and provided useful information on the subject. The workshop discussed mental health issues being faced by the university students, general medical conditions, symptoms and role of hostel management in Prevention and Early Identification of mental health issues in students. The topic of suicide and depression among students was discussed in detail.
