LUMS students on enroute to Skardu were injured in a bus accident near Mansehra. A bus carrying students of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) met with an accident in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to Rescue 1122 Mansehra’s official Facebook page, one of the bus of students belonging to LUMS was en route to Skardu for a trip when it was hit by a van. The incident caused injuring many students studying in different programs and batches of LUMS. However, three students were said to be critical while others suffered from minor injuries.

The students were rushed to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Abbottabad for treatment while students in critical condition were shifted to CMH Rawalpindi. Other students stayed at Abbottabad Garrison.

Skardu is a city located in Gilgit−Baltistan, Pakistan, and serves as the capital of Skardu District and the Baltistan Division. It is situated at an elevation of nearly 2,500 meters (8,202 feet) in the Skardu Valley, at the confluence of the Indus and Shigar Rivers. The city is an important gateway to the “eight-thousanders” (14 mountains that are more than 8,000 meters (26,247 ft) in height above sea level) of the nearby Karakoram Mountain range. The Indus River running through the region separates the Karakoram from the Himalayas.
